Chirripó hill
Chirripó is a cabécar word whose meaning is "land of eternal waters", in this place there are modeled and varied glacial forms such as U-shaped valleys, moraines, terraces, glaciers, lakes and glacial circles that testify to the Passage of great tongues of ice whose action dates from approximately 25,000 years.
According to the testimony of some indigenous people, Father Agustín Blessing, a missionary from Talamanca, was the first white man to conquer the summit of Cerro Chirripó in 1904. After this there were other expeditions in 1905, 1914, 1915, 1920, 1932 and 1942. It is the highest point in Costa Rica and the second in Central America, its highest point is at 3,820 m.a.s.l, the hill is part of the Chirripó National Park, so for your visit you must buy the tickets from the website of the National System of Conservation Areas (SINAC) where you can know availability of space according to the dates you have scheduled for your visit.
