The tour operator business emerged in San Vito de Coto Brus as an idea between brothers, the first office was placed there, however it did not work. For this reason, they decide to move to Puerto Jiménez and there they began to offer free tours to show that it was a quality job. This allowed them to generate clientele that demanded their services. The idea by which the office was created is to be able to generate sources of employment in the area due to the few options that its inhabitants have. Surcos Tours currently carries out social help work for local entrepreneurs, where customers, after doing their tours, leave a donation to the areas where they visit to help them continue with their environmental work, cleaning, among others.
